Jim Mork served as a district judge for 22 years in Albert Lea,
Austin and Rochester. He began his
judicial career in 1978 by defeating Rochester City
Attorney Gerald Swanson with 61 percent of the
vote in the Third Judicial District; most of the
counties of the Third Judicial District are included in the
First Congressional District.
Mork, 65, has been practicing law in Rochester and
Southeastern Minnesota since stepping down
from the bench in 2001. He specializes in
mediation and arbitration, and is a trial attorney in both
criminal and civil matters.
Mork and his wife reside in Rochester.
They have two adult children.
